Is it possible to capture the beauty of Norway with a personal touch? A young Danish filmmaker shows you how.
I assume that almost every photographer would agree with the fact that capturing the right moment requires a good eye, but most of all, patience. Sometimes the decisive moment happens right away, and sometimes you have to wait for a while. It can be as simple as an wild animal glancing up or as complex as having many disparate elements align within a perfectly composed frame. Even though some of the scenes you happen to be a witness of seem to be a result of coincidence, it’s always built up on a layer of deeply-rooted intention.
David Jervidal is a young cinematographer studying at the VIA College for Multiplatform, Storytelling and Production in Aarhus, Denmark. You could easily compare photography to cinematography and immediately come up with many differences between them in terms of approach. Image dynamics and narrative depending upon it may vary, but capturing of the crucial moments within a storyline is important for every visual composer.

From the small lonely islands of Lofoten to the dancing northern lights in Senja, I travelled with my father for 10 days in the northern part of Norway – with the aim to capture just a fraction of the untamed wilderness.
A successful outcome made by shooting with Sony a7riii and Mavic 2 Pro drone led to further experimenting with 35 mm camera effects.
